Two games – Two wins – the knot broke

On Sunday our U12 was a guest at the Herrenberg Wanderers.

At the beginning of the first game, in the first inning, Both teams were still together (2-1). Nils Dietze managed an offensive strike, who put our team in front with a nice line drive into the outfield and an in-the-park home run. By taking a 5-1 lead after the second inning, The concentration waned a little and the Mohawks let the Herrenbergers in Intermediate status of 5-5 balance.

The coaches urged concentration and the will to win.

In the fourth inning, our U12 showed reaction and impressed offensively and defensively. With 10-6 The U12 celebrated its second win of the season.

The second game started similarly to the first 2-1 after the first inning.

But in the following our students landed hit after hit, Run um Run**. The fans and parents who traveled with us literally pushed our boys to perform at their best.

The Wanderers couldn't counter our offense or defense in the second inning. The Mohawks deservedly went with it 8-1 in leadership.

The opponent tried to get close again in the third inning, but today there was nothing to be gained from the students. The team deservedly celebrated their first double-header success 12:4 Endstand.

**(Tim Hiller and Luki Gauss, je 5 Runs)

Student: Good performance, no reward

Last Sunday our students received the Royals 1 from Gammertingen.

At the beginning our boys set an example and played with concentration. They stayed level with the interim through the end of the second inning 4:4 Runs. Looking to make amends from the last day of play, the boys called at the end of the third inning 6:4 Runs in leadership. Unfortunately, our students could not keep their concentration up to the end, and gave away the win in the last inning. Endstand 6:9 Runs.

In the second game you could feel that the team wanted to attack again. A home run by Fabian Schüssler in the first inning that is well worth seeing made you want more! However, the air was from the third inning, in which the Royals brought in six points, out. Our Mohawks were demotivated by the intermediate results, as a consequence, that the second game also went to the opponent from Gammertingen. Endstand 3:13 Runs.

First win of the season - Mohawks beat Ladenburg Romans with 15:14

On Sunday the 21.05. the Nagold Mohawks were guests at the Ladenburg Romans.

Die ersten 3 Innings were balanced – both teams were able to convince with a solid defense and only allowed one run in the first third of the game.

In the 4th inning, the Ladenburgers had adapted to pitcher Myron Richards' throws and were able to score base hits, but also by exploiting the mistakes of the guests, 4 Bringing runs home.

The Nagolder didn't let themselves be unsettled and despite some critical situations they were able to keep their motivation high and put a lot of pressure on the Romans in the 7th inning - with them 5 Hits und 9 Runs you could take the lead.

New substitute Luca Heinrich made life difficult for the Romans as a pitcher. Just a run to equalize 14:14 could bring them home. You started with this score 9. Inning. The Nagolder noticeably tense but focused and took advantage of every chance, to bring the supposedly decisive run home. Chris Laimer was able to bring home Myron Richards, who had advanced through Stolen Base and Wild Pitch, with a nice hit. The following defense didn't allow any more runners from the Ladenburgers.

The game thus ends 3,5 Hours in favor of the Mohawks with 15:14.

Myron Richards was the best batsman that day 3 Basehits, followed by Hannes Grossmann, Chris Laimer and Tobias Müllmaier with each 2 Hits.

Student – Clear conditions in the defeats against Gammertingen I

On Saturday our students were guests in Gammertingen again.

After our Mohawks had played two exciting games against the second guard of the Gammertingen Royals the weekend before (Endstand 9-7; 5:6 plus two extra innings), The signs were different this time. Due to illness, the U12 boys had to go without their catcher and captain, Change Florian Schüssler in some positions. Coach Patrick pointed out, that at the same time this was also an opportunity for the rest of the squad to show themselves and offer themselves.

With a lot of respect for the Royals' strong pitchers, our boys went strikeout time and time again and missed scoring points. The result was no points for the Nagolders in both games.

After the match day, the coach summed up a wasted day to fans and parents who had traveled with him. However, he also highlighted, that the defense did a good job overall, as other opponents in the league would sometimes have lost more heavily.

Ergebnisse: 0:5 and 0:8 Runs.

Now it's time to lick our wounds and score again next Sunday in the second leg against the Royals.

Split of the U12 at the start of the season

At the start of the season last Sunday, the 23. April the U12 of the Nagold Mohawks and the Tübingen Hawks against each other in Mohawks Park.

The Nagolder were visibly nervous at the beginning. Still, they made it, not letting the Tübingen Hawks pull away in the first two innings. In the third inning the boys rewarded themselves and called for the first time 3-1 Runs in leadership.

Unfortunately, the joy was short-lived. Also the strong pitching of Luka Gauss, with a total of ten strike-outs, didn't help, that the Tübingen took the lead again and this in the 5. innings to 3-7 Runs ausbauten.

Our students tried again to turn the tide, however unsuccessful.

The first game went with 5-7 Runs to the guests from Tübingen.

Spiel 2 started after a short break, in which the two new coaches, Patrick Gauss and Frieder Pfeifle, once again appealed for concentration and readjusted the team with motivating words.

The two teams didn't give each other much at the beginning (1-1 Runs). Aggressive base running and some action worth seeing allowed the Mohawks to win the third and fourth innings 6-3 Runs go ahead. A remarkable triple from Linus Ziegler followed by a steel on home was the highlight of the fourth inning. He was rightly celebrated by his teammates and spectators. The Tübingen Hawks tried in vain in the fifth inning to keep the Nagold Mohawks from their first season win. The game ended with 6-4 Runs and thus the first win in the first double header.
