Mohawks end perfect season with 12:10 Victory against Bad Mergentheim

Last Sunday, the Nagolder traveled to Bad Mergentheim for the last game of the season. Due to the holiday season, the Mohawks had to make do without a substitute.

Last Sunday, the Nagold Mohawks welcomed the league club from Gammertingen to the cup semifinals in Nagold. Many spectators found their way to Mohawks Park to loudly cheer and support their team.

The starting pitcher from Nagold, Luca Heinrich, initially found it difficult to get into the game and started with it 2 Hit by Pitches. Last Sunday, the Nagold Mohawks made it extra exciting at home in Mohawks Park. A tight game against the Reds from Stuttgart demanded everything from the Nagoldern.

Erster Sieg der Jugend-SG gegen Ravensburg

Bei bestem Wetter trat die Jugend-Spielgemeinschaft Nagold/Herrenberg zum ersten Heimspiel in Herrenberg gegen die Ravensburg Leprechauns an. Mit insgesamt 16 Spielern auf der Lineup konnten die Coaches Simon Mohr, Paul Küchle und Benny Kaufer aus dem Vollen schöpfen.

Gegen ein Team, das mit 5 H-Springern (zu alten Spielern) angetreten ist, stellten die Coaches ein konkurrenzfähiges Team auf und wollten so das Spiel regulär gewinnen. Hätte man das Spiel verloren, wäre es aufgrund der älteren Spieler bei Ravensburg mit 7-0 für das SG-Team gewertet worden. Doch der Sieg sollte mit eigenen Mitteln erkämpft werden. Und so kam es dann auch.

Durch Basehits von Chris Dantas-Gamerdinger , Azra Sevil, Eric Österle, Sarah Kutschera und Emil Kläger konnte die SG nach 2 Innings mit 5 Punkte in Führung gehen. Die Defensive erledigte Pitcherin Sarah Kutschera quasi im Alleingang mit 5 Strikeouts und einem Aus an der ersten Base.

Eine erstklassige Pitching-Leistung durch Sarah Kutschera war letztlich auch der Garant für den Sieg gegen die Leprechauns. Im dritten und vierten Spielabschnitt konnten die Ravensburger zum ersten Mal punkten und so drei Runs erzielen, die von der Heimmannschaft allerdings mit weiteren 5 Runs gekontert wurden.

Am Anfang des vorletzten Spielabschnitts stand es somit 10:3 für die Spielgemeinschaft. Ab dem fünften Inning fanden die Kobolde aus Ravensburg besser ins Spiel und plötzlich stand es im sechsten Inning nur noch 11:11. Im Nachschlagen erzielte Max Lippmann den Walk-Off-Basehit und schlug so weitere 2 Punkte zum Endergebnis von 13-11 für den Nachwuchs aus Nagold und Herrenberg nach Hause.

With 13 Hits war die Offensiv-Leistung hervorragend, allerdings muss mit 4 Errors in der Defense noch Einiges getan werden.
